EnergyCo has released a 25-page policy paper on how it plans to share the "benefits" of the New England REZ with our communities.

Sounds good. Until you read it.

Here's what it DOESN'T contain:

❌ No dollar amounts. We don't know how much is in the fund

❌ No access fee rates. We don't know what developers will pay

❌ No definition of "host community". The most impacted towns have no guaranteed share

❌ No independent governance. EnergyCo controls everything

❌ No community voting rights. We advise, they decide

❌ No binding commitments on water, roads, or decommissioning

❌ No grant rules. They don't exist yet

Here's the bigger problem:

The New England REZ was a utopian dream from day one. No engineering feasibility. No water assessment. No road capacity analysis. No workforce plan. No cumulative impact study. Just an 8 GW target drawn on a map and a press release.

No one asked whether it could be built here. No one asked us.

Now, after all those decisions are locked in, they're "consulting" us on how to spend a fund with no money, no rules, and no independence.

That's not consultation. That's choreography.

We are not opposed to renewable energy. We accept our fair share. Not saturation. Not extraction. Not at any cost.

We're calling for:

✅ An honest engineering feasibility assessment of the 8 GW target

✅ A revised 2-3 GW scale our region can actually support

✅ Full disclosure of how much is in the fund

✅ Independent fund governance, not controlled by EnergyCo

✅ Host communities defined and guaranteed a minimum 60% of funds

✅ Enforceable protections for water, roads, and decommissioning

✅ Transparency on the impact to YOUR energy bills

You cannot build a just transition on a foundation of wishful thinking.
